Frequently Asked Questions

WHEN DOES REGISTRATION START?

Registration for the Fall season usually opens in May and closes in August.

Registration for the Spring season usually opens in mid November/December and closes at the end of February.

The exact dates are dependent on BYSL and GCF scheduling.

HOW MUCH DOES REGISTRATION COST?

Registration fees vary among programs and are subject to review and change each seasonal year.

PSJ Soccer Club makes every effort to keep fees as low as possible through solicitation of donations and sponsorships from local business and other civic organizations.

Recreational fees include a uniform (dry fit shirt only for Lil' Futbolers & U6). In most cases, a discount can be received for using the uniform in subsequent seasons.

Current rates can be found on our Registration page.

WHEN DOES THE SEASON START?

For the Fall season, practices begin in mid to late August. Games begin the weekend after Labor Day and run for 10 weeks.

Spring season practices start in late February. Games begin in March and run for 8 weeks.

Players are contacted AFTER coaches are recruited and teams are formed.

DO I NEED TO PURCHASE A UNIFORM?

All players who are new to the Club will need to purchase a uniform. A full uniform, including jersey, shorts, and socks is provided. It is recommended to order a larger size in order to be able to use the uniform for as long as possible.

Players have the option to reuse their uniforms in subsequent seasons in return for receiving a discount for each season the uniform is reused.

Uniforms for the Development & Competitive Programs are NOT included in the registration fee. Instructions will be given to purchase the uniform separately once the player has been chosen to participate in one of those programs.

DOES MY CHILD NEED ANY ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT TO PLAY?

Each player must have the following:

  1. Shin guards worn under long socks.
  2. Appropriate soccer shoes. Tennis shoes may be worn, but soccer cleats are recommended. No cleats with metal studs are allowed.
  3. Sufficient water for every practice and game.
  4. The correct size soccer ball:
    • Lil' Futbolers through U8 -- Size 3 ball
    • U9 through U12 -- Size 4 ball
    • U13 and up -- Size 5 ball

WHEN AND WHERE ARE PRACTICES HELD?

All practices are held at the Space Coast Communities Sports Complex in Cocoa.

Practice times and days are established by the coach of each team.

Information will be sent approximately one week before the start of practices. PSJ Soccer can not guarantee practice days and will not provide refunds for a player's inability to attend practice.

WHEN AND WHERE ARE GAMES PLAYED?

U6 & U8 teams play all games on Saturday mornings at the Space Coast Communities Sports Complex.

U10 & up teams play half their games at the Space Coast Communities Sports Complex and half at the opponent's home field. Games are usually played on Saturdays, although some games might take place on Sundays.

The current schedules are posted on the website once they are available.

DO YOU OFFER SCHOLARSHIPS?

PSJ Soccer Club strives to ensure that all children who wish to play are given the opportunity.

We offer a limited number of scholarships available each season based on financial need.

Recipients are requested to contribute whatever amount they financially can in order for the Club to assist as many families as possible.

Recipients are also required to work volunteer hours at the Club in order to be eligible for future scholarships. Numerous opportunities are available to complete service hours.

The Scholarship Application can be found on our need based scholarships page.
